....and giddy-up!

That's what's left.

Some of the older and "badder" kids cannibalised a rented bicycle abandoned at the playground outside the Penang Youth Center, by thieving the pedals, chain & wheels!
At least, I still have the wheels intact upon returning the rented bicycle....10 cents per hour.

Cheekiat pushed to return it to the bicycle shop in nearby Armenianian Street, and I helped by lifting the rear wheel so that it will still look good on first impression. Create some illusion to fool the shop-owner.

All we need is to park the bicycle together with all the other bicycles for rent, and that's it! But we were scared. Never thought that would happen.

A warped bicycle wheel.

We had rented the bicycle to giddy-giddy it up fast and then jump off it, to let it hit against a wall 5 feet away. It was a planned activity on a saturday morning, now it looks like a bad plan. Plan B is now necessary.

"What!!!...what is this? Call your father here!". In those days, everything is about calling your father here.

"Oei!..Oei!...come back!"

We made a very fast exit. We just ran!...quickly into Soo Hong Lane and then to just disappear from his sight. Did the best Houdini act ever, and come think of it today, I am glad there were no hand-phones then. Otherwise I'll be facing music every day........the sounds of sooot, soooot, sooooooot!!!
We didn't rent a bicycle again for the next two months.
